Turn Notation Editor

Activate Turn Notation Editor: Tap on Turn button at the bottom of the screen.

Dancer Turns: A dancer turns during step changes. A turn can be completed during a single step or a number of steps. Turns completed in a single step are pivot turns notated in the foot columns (weight changes) LeftFootStep and RightFootStep. Turns that are perormed over more than one step are notated in the Way column Way.

Notate Pivot Turns: The turn notation pad is shown in Figure. To notate a pivot turn select a row on the staff. Tap on Pivot Turn button on the Turn Notation pad.

Notate Amount of Turn: Select left turn leftTurn or right turn rightTurn . The dial changes to buttons with 1/8 turns. Tap on a button that specifies the turn amount. To notate a turn that exceeds 360 degrees Long Press on the 0 button to display a menu for full turns. Select the number of full turns.

Notate When to Turn: A turn for a pose may happen at the start of a step change or at the completion of step change. To notate a turn at the beginning tap on Turn at Start ... button to the right of the turn dial. To notate a turn at the end tap on Turn at End ... button. The default is turn notated at the end of a step.

Notate Pivoting Foot: The dancer normally performs a turn by pivoting on the standing foot (the foot that is in contact with floor). But a turn can also be performed with both feet in contact with the floor. Tap and toggle the button leftFoot rightFoot located to the right of the dial to select pivoting foot/feet.

Notate Way Turns: The turns a dancer performs over several steps are way turns. These turns are in addition to the pivot turns notated in the step change columns. To notate a Way turn select Way Turn .

Notate Amount of Turn: Select left turn leftTurn or right turn rightTurn . The dial changes to buttons with 1/8 turns. Tap on a button that specifies the turn amount. To notate a turn that exceeds 360 Degrees Long Press on the 0 button and select the number of full turns. A turn symbol appears in the way column starting at the selected step and extending to the selected length.

Notate Way Length: Way lenght is number of step the turn is executed. Tap Length button to increase the number of steps the turn is to be executed. Alternately, Long Press the Length button. A pop-up menu appears. Select the number of steps for way length from the menu.
