Figure List View

The view displays a list of Figures for a dance. A Figure is a short sequence of the steps. Examples of the figures are “Basic”, “Cross-body lead”, etc. Usually, your instructor teaches a dance as a number of figures. The figures are stringed together to form the complete dance sequence.

User Interaction

Add a New Figure: Tap on + button at the end of the figure list to add a new figure. A new figure with name “Figure x” is created.

Change Name or Duplicate Figure: Long press on the figure name to change its name or to duplicate the figure.

Delete a Figure: Swipe on the Figure name from right-to-left to show the delete button. Tap on the delete button to remove the Figure or tap anywhere on the screen to cancel. A Figure may also be deleted by the Edit button described below.

Navigate to Notations Staffs: Tap on > button to the right of a figure name to display Notation Staffs for the figure.

Import and Export: Tap on Justify button on top right corner for menu to import and export figure data. The data can be archived and shared with other users of DanceStepper App. Data can be exported as PDF files for printing. Data can also be exported as JSON files which can be imported by other users of the DanceStepper App.

Edit Figure List: Tap Edit at the bottom left. The list edit view is presented to delete and/or reorder the figure list. Tap Done to exit the list edit view.

Arrange a Complete Dance Sequence

The view can be used to form a complete dance sequence. Often, some of the figures are repeated at different parts of a dance. Duplicate and rearrange the list of the figures for a dance sequence. The humanoid characters in the AR Animation follow the sequence!
